Swing Dance in the Garden

Swing dancing in the Founders Memorial Garden.

You are cordially invited to continue the
75th Anniversary celebration of
the Founders Memorial Garden,
by joining us for swing music and dancing on
Friday, October 10 from 7-9:30 p.m.

1939 was the height of the swing dance craze in the U.S.! Bust out those dancing shoes for a night of live music by The Dixieland 5, a swing dance lesson from Athens Swing Night, and more!

Light refreshments and desserts will be provided. If you would like to bring your own picnic dinner and/or snacks please do.

Seating is limited so we encourage you to bring blankets and lawn chairs on which to relax.

If you plan to dance, please bring dance-friendly street shoes (preferably without heel) as dancing will be on blacktop/pavement, not a dance floor!

Thank you to Athens Swing Night for assistance in the running of this event. If you would like to find out more about swing dancing in Athens, please visit their website at www.athensswingnight.com.

This event is FREE and open to the public so please spread the word and bring your friends!
