Dean’s Blog: CE+D and UGA’s research agenda

The University of Georgia has identified three signature themes to frame its overall research agenda: inquiring and innovating to improve human health; safeguarding and sustaining our world; and changing lives through the Land Grant Mission. Given the close fit with strengths and initiatives within the College of Environment and Design, it is almost as though those themes were written with our college in mind.

CED landscape architects and planners regularly create healthy walkable communities and also design therapeutic gardens and other spaces intended to improve the health of the population.  Sustainability remains one of the major foci of all of our work in preservation, planning, and design.  And, we strive to fulfill the Land Grant Mission time and again through numerous community-based projects throughout Georgia and beyond.

We are able to do all of this because of our outstanding team: the very best students, faculty, and staff in the country.
