Owens Library

Owens Library

The Owens Library, located in G14 Caldwell Hall, holds material relevant to Landscape Architecture and Historic Preservation and the related fields. It is administratively separate from the UGA Libraries,      and there is a separate catalog here at the Owens Library to search       our holdings.

There are over 7,000 volumes held in the library, including theses and senior projects. Journals, maps, videos, computer resources, images and Internet access are also available. The Owens Library is open to the public, and material can be checked out by patrons outside of the School of Environemtnal Design; please bring identification if you are not currently enrolled in classes.

Owens Library Mission Statement

The Owens Library is a regional, national, and international resource for the practice of landscape architecture and historic preservation. The mission of the Owens Library is to make readily available relevant materials for the study and research used in the multidisciplinary areas of landscape architecture, historic preservation and their related fields. The purpose of the library is to support the research needs of the students, faculty, and alumni of the School of Environmental Design, as well as practicing landscape architects and historic preservationists, archivists, researchers, and the community at large. The School of Environmental Design library, archives, slide and image collection, and the Circle Gallery, are housed in the Owens Library in G14 Caldwell Hall.

The Owens Library is staffed by one full time professional librarian and three graduate assistants.
