MHP Financial Aid

The University of Georgia and the College of Environment & Design offer various scholarships, fellowships, tuition waivers, and assistantships to help MHP students defray the cost of graduate school.
Tuition Waivers
MHP students from the following states have received Common Market tuition waivers:
|
|---|
The Southeastern Academic Common Market is an agreement among Southern states to share uncommon academic programs at both the baccalaureate and graduate levels. The University of Georgia's MHP program is one such program. Residents of participating states without an in-state MHP program can enroll at Georgia for the same price as a Georgia resident. To participate in this program, you must be admitted into the MHP program and obtain certification of residency from your home state's Common Market coordinator.
Graduate Assistantships
The Graduate School awards University-wide assistantships to entering students on the basis of academic merit and other criteria. To be eligible, students must complete their graduate school applications by February 15 and be sponsored by the College. No special application is required; all entering students who meet the criteria are considered.
University-wide assistantships require 13 hours of work each week, in addition to an academic load requirement of 12 semester hours. The stipend is $1,000 each month for the nine months of the academic year.
The College of Environment & Design awards departmental research assistantships on the basis of academic achievement and job skills required. These assistantships are open to all students. Courseload and work requirements are the same as for university-wide assistantships, but departmental assistantships are assigned on a semester-by-semester basis. The stipend is $4,200 each semester.
