Weinberg Appointed Associate Dean

Landscape Architecture Professor Scott Weinberg was appointed associate dean of the College of Environment and Design ( CED), CED Dean John F. Crowley announced September 24, 2002. As associate dean, Weinberg will manage CED facilities, budgeting, technology and college wide support staff, and represent the college in university functions and activities in the dean’s absence. He will continue to serve as director of the undergraduate program in landscape architecture.

Weinberg graduated from Iowa State University in 1981 with a Master of Landscape Architecture. He joined the School of Environmental Design (SED) faculty in 1982 and served as director of facilities and as internship coordinator. His academic interests include application of design theory and technology in the design classroom.

Weinberg is the first associate dean for CED. The college, formed in 2001, combined the existing School of Environmental Design with the Institute of Ecology, and is poised to become one of the nation’s leading centers for research, teaching and outreach on such issues as species diversity, water resources, and urban design and development.
