Jennifer Lewis

Outreach Coordinator

Biography

Jennifer serves as the Outreach Coordinator for the Center for Community Design & Preservation – the Public Service and Outreach arm of the UGA College of Environment and Design. Her experience lies in historic preservation commission activities, downtown revitalization programs and community design charrettes – all tools that assist communities in protecting what is significant from their past and managing future growth. Day to day, Jennifer matches community needs in Georgia with the resources of CED faculty, staff and students; including coordinating design charrettes and managing the CED online Job Board. Jennifer serves as a liaison between the CED and the Office of the Vice-President for Public Service and Outreach (OVPPSO) to create a demonstration model of “the engaged college” that can be emulated by other UGA schools and colleges. These tasks include tracking and evaluating CED’s service and outreach activities and identifying new collaborations between Public Service & Outreach (PSO) Units and CED. Jennifer was a 2011 University of Georgia Service Learning Fellow and served on the Board of Trustees for the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation for six years, including as its President.
